ZIMBABWE will re-denominate the dollar by removing 10 zeros from August1, central bank Governor Gideon Gono said yesterday. “The Zimbabwe dollar will be dollar, will be redenominated by a factor or of one to 10, which means we are removing ten zeros from our monetary value.

THE Lions Club of Tema, made up of professionals and business people, was at the weekend educated on the benefits and the usage of the e-zwich system.

THE Head of Electronic Channels and Field Support of Ecobank Ghana Limited, Mr. Stephen Kemetse, has stressed the need for the business community in the Kumasi metropolis to embrace the e-Zwich cards to enhance business transactions.

AMALBANK has begun transacting business in its Takoradi and Tamale branches with the recently introduced e-zwich smart card that is meant to reduce the incidents of customers carrying huge cash on them to the bank to transact business.

The Central Bank is stepping up its education to banks and savings and loans companies on the e-zwich common platform and biometric smartcard. This follows the introduction of the smartcard and passage of Anti-Money Laundering and the Credit Reporting Acts.

FIRST Allied Savings and Loans Limited had organized a two-day training workshop for its customers in Kumasi to explain to them the advantages of the new electronic payment system, the e-zwich.

THE Management of Home Finance Company Bank Ghana Limited (HFC Bank) has embarked on a massive educational campaign on the use of the national switch, “e-zwich” smart card system in the Tamale metropolis.
